Emblem of the feathered faith

Avianism

Welcome to the online temple of Avianism, a forever free to access holy site for learners of the feathered faith.

This virtual space serves as a place of teaching for both followers of Avianism and for the uninitiated.

For those new to this temple, I welcome you.

Avianism's primary principle is that all Avian life is most sacred.

Such life is sacred for which the body and spirit of the volant naturally exist closest to the source of all life, the Sun.

All life is the question, the Sun is the answer.

All land on Earth is sacred for the Sun's eternal touch and shapings.

For the divine nature of the volant delivers divine truths and raises the faithful's spirits as high as their wings take them.

To know these truths, knows freedom, humility, balance - this is the way of the feathered faith, this is the truth.

May such truths give you elevated faith, freedom from ego, and wisdom closest to any heaven and furthest from any hell.

The Avian Order smiles upon the faithful. Sacred life, 400 billion strong.

Protect me from the forces that dare weigh me down. Raise my spirit skyward among the volant.

Gone be the chains that shackle. Gone be the corrupt that ground.

For freedom is my faith, for freedom my mind has, for freedom I have.

As of this moment, this temple is currently in early construction and some rooms are not ready yet.

The temple evolves overtime as it is constructed, its rooms as of now such are subject to change.

As you learn, if you have any questions regarding the truths you find, head to the FAQ room (when it is ready).

If the FAQ room doesn't give a satisfactory answer, do not hesitate to inquire.

What does it mean to be a follower?

Followers of Avianism are reverers of Avian life with spiritual allegiance to the Avian Order and its philosophy.

Freedom, humility, and balance are the critical values held as the primary tenets of the feathered faith's philosophy:

The freedom of Humanity to pursue beliefs, to pursue speech, to pursue a moral life free from any cage or authority.

Freedom is the truth through free flight of distant skylarks, to steal any Human or Avian of their freedom is a moral crime.

Humanity shines at its best only when the torch of freedom is held high, the fate of all depends on this light.

As a follower, you understand freedom and personal liberty is a fundamental right for all of Humanity and Avian life.

The humility of Humanity to live among all as brothers and sisters with respect, for living above brings ruin.

Humility is the truth that we have no right to behave as skyward gods above any when we are all children below the Sun.

Past and present leaders have disregarded this truth and have laid waste to lands of hundreds of billions.

As a follower, you understand humility is key to eliminate ego and arrogance from corrupting one's spirit.

The balance of Humanity to ensure the sustainability of ourselves and our civilisation, equilibrium ensures our future.

Balance is the truth that nothing lasts without being in balance. Broken equilibriums are evident to lead to collapse.

Unbalanced lives suffer, unbalanced ecosystems collapse, unbalanced civilisations crumble. Life and resources must be sustained.

As a follower, you understand balance and sustainability is essential for sustaining a healthy future for all life on Earth.

These are not simply ideals, these are the most critical truths that followers hold for themselves and others to embrace.

This is the way of the feathered faith, this is the truth. Just as the volant flies freely with self-awareness with balanced wings.

The future of Humanity depends on our belief of these truths, that as believers we can give light to our future and all within.

Humanity will prevail when the farmer plants trees that bears fruit only in the farmer's death.

Becoming a follower

In becoming a follower of Avianism, you are already completing your initiation.

Your arrival at this temple and learning the feathered faith and philosophy is the first step.

This includes the belief of Avianism's truths of Freedom, Humility, and Balance.

You can now begin to understand Avianism's spiritual concepts in practice.

The second step of initiation is to spiritually connect with the Avian Order through a journey of Avian observation, "birdwatching".

This is a recommended practice under Avianism for mediation and spiritual learning and teaching.

Note that prior observational experiences do not count towards initiation.

Beforehand the temple must be witnessed and the faith must be known.

This is not a test you can 'fail'.

This is only a spiritual practice available to everyone which settles the mind and spirit through the light of Avian life.

It is simply also used for the initiation process.

The only requirement is yourself and an open mind.

The journey can be done alone or with companions, during and after initiation.

Recommendations during travel are water and a camera/smartphone.

For those wishing to bring more, a species pocket guide, pair of binoculars if you have them, or a drawing pad are some options.

The journey may take place anywhere where there is good abundance and diversity in Avians.

It is highly advised that the place of choice is untainted by dense Human development and pollution.

This may be a very large park, a natural reserve, a sanctuary, a bush track, or any rural area with Avian habitat.

For example, the journey may not be spiritually effective on city beaches, urban parks, or a backyard.

Being able to meditate and travel on foot with free movement and little disturbance from development is the ideal.

The journey can take as long as you feel is enough for casual stroll. Recommended time is at least 30 minutes.

When you take your journey, be mindful of the well being of the Avian life.

Do not flash, do not disturb, do not interfere.

Take the words of the feathered faith with you as inspiration for your thoughts.

For example, the relative ease and calm of the body and mind as a bird does sitting on a branch or effortlessly gliding in the wind.

The sacred live among us, settle your mind, calm your body, contemplate and go where your spirit tells you.

This is spiritual training for your mind and for humility.

These are rewards of the journey.

Different people will respond differently to the journey.

You may feel indifferent, bored, or soothed and fulfilled. All are valid emotions of the experience.

Not everyone will find this spiritually effective, even in the most sacred of lands, and that's ok.

It is the freedom you take to find what journey works best for you if not Avianism, that's what will make it special; your freedom.

At the end of the journey, you may know if your faith lies with the feathered faith, and if Avianism harmonises within you.

You may travel more for any reason, including if you wish to have more spiritual experience before deciding.

After the rites of passage, it is your choice, your freedom, your spirit, to decide to become a follower of Avianism.

The Avian Order welcomes all.
